Cream and cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Because of little data, no stratification by site was made.
5 articles, providing information about 5 different cohorts were found.

Results: A significant protective effect of cream consumption against CHD risk was found in one cohort examining men only (Holmberg S 2009). And a nonsignificant protective effect against MI risk was found in another cohort among men, but not women (Warensjö E 2010).
In addition, a significant protective effect was found against ischemic stroke risk in one cohort examining men only (Larsson SC 2009). In the same cohort a nonsignificant protective effect was found against intracerebral hemmorhage. The risk but not the trend was nonsignificant.
Effect modification: No data about effect modification was provided. But all 4 protective effects were found among Scandinavian men. Also, all effects were found with disease risk, but not mortality.

Conclusion: Some protective effects were found against heart disease + stroke risk end points, but findings were inconclusive. However, when heart disease risk and stroke risk are considered one end point, Suggestive evidence was found for a protective effect of cream consumption among men (Excluding incomplete data from Warensjö E [28]: Average RR = 0.82). These findings were restricted to results from 3 Scandinavian (northern Europe) cohorts.
