Raw vegetables and colorectal cancer.

Data about raw vegetables was provided by 2 cohorts.
A protective effect against colon cancer mortality among men and women was found in one cohort, but no information was provided about the strenght, and significance of the association, and no adjustments for possible confounders were made (7). No associations with colon or rectal cancer risk of high vs low consumption were found in the other cohort (9).

Conclusion: Inconclusive evidence was found for an association between raw vegetables and colorectal cancer.
