Umbelliferae and colorectal cancer.

Data about umbelliferae was provided by a pooled analysis of 14 cohorts. No association was found with total colon cancer risk, but a significantly decreased distal colon cancer risk was found.

Conclusion: A significant protective effect against distal colon cancer risk was found in a pooled analysis of 14 cohorts, but no results are available from any of the cohorts of very large size. Items from the umbelliferae family possibly protect against distal colon cancer risk, but no evidence was found for an association with total colon cancer.
