Onions and all-cause mortality/survival.

Data about onions was provided by 2 cohorts. A significant protective effect (trend) was found in one cohort (9), and a nonsignificant protective effect was found in the other cohort (11).

Conclusion: Protective effects were found in 2 cohorts, but cohort sizes were (very) small, and associations were not always significant. No evidence was found for an association between onions and mortality.
