Poultry and all-cause mortality or survival.

Data about poultry consumption was provided by 3 cohorts (10, 17, 18). No associations were found of high vs low consumption. Protective effects were found at consumption 1-2 times/week in one cohort (Iso H [18]) among men (significant), and women (nonsignificant). And a nonsignificant protective effect was found at consumption 1-3 times/week in another cohort (Whiteman D [10]).
No association was found between skin from chicken and mortality in a fourth cohort (Jamrozik K [12]).

Conclusion: No associations were found between high consumption of poultry (skin) and mortality. Some protective effects of poultry were found at intermediate levels of consumption (1-3 times/week), but these were not always significant. Inconclusive evidence was found for an association between poultry consumption and all-cause mortality.
