Cheese and total cancer.

Data about cheese was provided by 5 cohorts. The association with total cancer risk was examined in 2 cohorts (11, 12), while the association with total cancer mortality was examined in 4 cohorts (7, 10, 12, 14).

Results: A protective effect of cheese against both total cancer risk and total cancer mortality was found in one cohort (12). No other associations were found.
Effect modification: No data was found.
Conclusion: Few associations were found. No evidence was found for an association between cheese consumption and total cancer risk or mortality.
