Green & yellow (/orange) vegetables and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Data about green-yellow vegetables was provided by 2 Asian cohorts. A significant protective effect against risk of type 2 diabetes was found in one cohort (11). In addition, a significant protective effect against mortality from diabetes was found in the other cohort (2).

Conclusion: Significant protective effects were found in 2 Asian cohorts of moderate-very large size. Diabetes mortality was the end point in one of these cohorts. Green-yellow vegetables possibly protect against diabetes.
